PRINCESS MARY’S HEARTACHE: ‘I FELT VERY ALONE’

-

In a deeply personal speech, Crown Princess Mary revealed the immense grief she experienced following the death of her mother in 1997.

Mary was only 25 years old when her mother, Henrietta Donaldson, tragically passed away – seven years before Mary would make her ascent into a royal family by marrying Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark.

Now, having spent most of this year in Switzerland where her four children, Prince Christian, 14, Princess Isabella,

12, and twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, 9, are attending the Lemaniaverbier International School, Mary briefly returned to Denmark to resume her royal duties.

As part of her work for the Mary Foundation, the princess spoke to high school students at an awards ceremony about serious illness, death and grief. Drawing on her own experience of losing her mother, Mary told students that “loss and grief are a part of life, and both are more easily carried if you have someone to share it with”. She added that, in hindsight, having struggled with loneliness, she believes she “would have benefited from opening up more and involving others in my grief”.

Actress Kate Ritchie’s marriage has been surrounded by controversy since the NSW police took an AVO out on her behalf against her husband, Stuart Webb.

But desperate to give their relationship another shot, Stuart begged his wife of nine years for another chance before the pair jetted off to Fiji with family in January in the hope of a fresh start.

“My wife pointed it out and we were both surprised,” reveals a fellow traveller staying at the Sheraton Denarau. “There were other family members on the trip. Someone escorted them around almost the whole time, it was like they didn’t want to leave them alone for long.”

But Kate and Stuart were also seen engaged in “heated exchanges around the resort”.

“They excused themselves a couple of times and moved to a quieter area of the pool where they looked pretty stressed,” says the onlooker.

“Everyone was pretty shocked to see them there

and they didn’t look happy.”

While they normally appear rock solid, there are fears Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s marriage could be in trouble.

It comes as the couple were a no-show at this year’s Oscars. The fact they skipped the awards surprised a lot of people in Hollywood, as it was thought Nicole would be there to support her Bombshell co-stars Charlize Theron and Australia’s Margot Robbie, who were both nominated.

So, what’s going on? Some insiders say Nicole is tiring of the LA scene and is keen to move to Australia with her and Keith’s children, Sunday Rose, 11, and Faith Margaret, 9.

Keith, however, wants to stay in the US, where the country musician enjoys huge success.

Keith did give some insight as to where he and Nicole were on Oscars night, telling Taste of Country that the family were at home.

“We made a big game out of it, Nic and I and the two kids,” he said. “We had a sheet each and we had to fill it all in before the thing started. And obviously a lot of the categories none of us have a clue, we just pick at random.”

They’ll have to enjoy the family time while they can, as Nicole will soon head to Europe to film the movie The Northman with her former Big Little Lies co-star Alexander Skarsgård.
