WILL MACKENZIE’S STEAMY FLING REMAIN A SECRET?
There’s nothing like a hot new romance to mend a broken heart – as Summer Bay’s gorgeous restaurateur Mackenzie is about to find out!
“Mackenzie has finally checked out of her relationship with Colby,” says her portrayer Emily Weir. “She’s ready to move on.”
In must-see scenes, Mackenzie this week finds herself giving in to her sizzling attraction to hunky newcomer Ari (Rob Kipawilliams). And before long, the pair are spending the night together!
The week begins with
Mackenzie feeling baffled after she asked Ari a few questions about his life, only for him to quickly shut down the conversation. In fact, Ari was worried that Mackenzie would find out he had spent time behind bars.
Convinced Ari was playing games with her, Mackenzie has decided she’s had enough. Having headed to the caravan park where Ari is living, the feisty restaurateur now confronts a bemused Ari, demanding to know what the story is.
And when Ari fesses up about his criminal past – as he had last week promised Mackenzie’s brother, his former prison mate Dean (Patrick O’connor), he would – Mackenzie isn’t scared off. Far from it, in fact!
“HER CONFIDENCE HAS SLOWLY BEEN BROKEN”
Soon, the pair are sharing a passionate kiss before heading into Ari’s van to take things further.
“When Mackenzie first rocked into the Bay, she was a power woman who went for what she wanted,” says Emily. “But her confidence has slowly been broken. Now she thinks ‘I am worth it! I don’t need to mess around with people who don’t make me feel as good as I can feel’.”
Meanwhile, unbeknown to the couple, John (Shane Withington) has spotted Mackenzie and Ari together.
And John, who is anything but Ari’s number-one fan, isn’t prepared to keep what he’s seen to himself !
Is Colby (Tim Franklin) about to find out about his ex’s steamy new fling?
“There’s so much on the way,” teases Emily.

Marilyn and John finally open up to each other. But is Marilyn ready to take John back? And Ziggy realises that Marco may be her father!
THURSDAY:
Leah receives a phone call that threatens to derail her recovery. Willow and Dean arrive back in the Bay after their time away, but Willow is still far from herself.
