COURTROOM SHOWDOWN

-

Their 15-month marriage came to a crashing halt back in 2016, but Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are still slinging mud at each other. Gruesome new details of the couple’s relationship have come to light as part of a libel case between Johnny and News Group Newspapers (NGN) over an article they published in The Sun which labelled the actor a “wife beater”. But it appears Johnny, 57, and Amber, 34 have conflicting views of what really happened …

During the trial, Johnny has denied all 14 accusations of assault, dubbing them a “hoax”. Instead, he claims his ex-wife was the violent one, telling the court: “She is a calculating, diagnosed borderline personality; she is sociopathic; she is a narcissist; and she is completely emotionally dishonest. I am now convinced that she came into my life to take from me anything worth taking, and then destroy what remained of it.”

Johnny alleges Amber was violent towards him on many occasions, and recounted an incident that involved Amber throwing a vodka bottle at him, which cut off part of his finger. He did admit to using his bloody finger to write on a mirror in the house and said: “I believe that I went into some kind of breakdown.”

The star also claims she threw a “haymaker” punch at him during her 30th birthday, just hours after she found out he’d lost $930 million. “It was almost as if there were rules, she has a routine and if that routine isn’t met to her standards then there was going to be a problem,” he said.

Johnny also claims Amber called him “pathetic” when he was photographed with ice cream dripping all over him.

One of “the cruellest things” Johnny says Amber did, however, was to withhold detox medication from him in the Bahamas in 2014 while he was withdrawing from opioid use. Amber alleges that Johnny pushed her during the trip; but he insists he was in no condition to do so, as he was left “sobbing like a child” on the floor.
