Kate & wills ISLAND BABYMOON
THE CAMBRIDGES ESCAPE TO THE ISLES OF SCILLY AHEAD OF THEIR NEW ARRIVAL
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are secretly trying for a fourth child, New Idea can reveal. In a heartwarming exclusive, sources say the much-loved couple, both 38, are aiming to conceive at the earliest opportunity.
But they’re taking a deliberately relaxed attitude towards the task, since Kate famously had difficulties during her other pregnancies with George, 7, Charlotte, 5, and Louis, 2.
“William and Kate have been talking very seriously about having one more baby, and if she falls pregnant it won’t be a big surprise to those who know them best,” discloses an insider.
“Of course she would need to take the utmost care after the troubles she went through previously, but Kate is still extremely healthy and they’re quietly confident they would have more tools at their disposal to deal with any complications this time around.”
The couple recently enjoyed a relaxing trip off the coast of Cornwall, where they stayed at a beautiful six-bedroom property named Dolphin House – owned by Prince Charles – on the picturesque Isles of Scilly.
Though it was billed as a family getaway, insiders say it also provided the Cambridges with a muchneeded break, amid their ongoing troubles with Prince

Harry, 35, and Duchess of Sussex, Meghan, 39.
“This trip served several purposes, and principally of course it was a wonderful opportunity for them to recharge their batteries and bond together as a family,” explains an insider. “But they also needed to decompress from all the drama and negativity they’ve been subjected to by the Sussexes’ cringeworthy antics of late.
“Kate and William got to enjoy plenty of one-on-one time, too, and they had some intimate, romantic evenings all by themselves.
“It also gave them the chance to regroup and map out the rest of their summer, so they could organise their schedule around the next big priority – baby making!”
As New Idea recently revealed, Kate has been affected by a series of deeply personal claims in a new biography, Finding Freedom, written with the blessing of Harry and Meghan’s closest friends.
While the runaway royals have denied directly participating in the tell-all, it’s been interpreted in most circles as a thinly veiled ‘hit job’ and an all-but authorised version of their take on events that led to the couple’s self-imposed exile.
Indeed, esteemed royal author Andrew Morton previously confirmed how Kate is particularly troubled by damaging new anecdotes and analysis about her and William’s deepening feud with the former Suits actress and his younger sibling.
“There’s no doubt the rift between Harry and William has deeply affected Kate. It upsets her,” Andrew told New Idea exclusively.
The Cambridges are now back at their full-time residence of Anmer Hall where sources say William is anxious to shield his doting wife from any more fallout – particularly when they’re trying for another child.
An insider says, “The focus for Kate and William at the moment is health, positivity and family, and what better way to move forward than to concentrate on trying for one more child?”
Anne married Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence in 1992.
With Princess Anne marking her 70th birthday this week, it’s likely the famously no-fuss royal will have a low-key celebration.
Earlier this year, when events were being planned to mark Anne’s many life achievements, the princess revealed she wasn’t a fan of big celebrations. “It would be nice if it were just another year passed,” she said.
However, with the pandemic restrictions still in place and the Queen travelling to Scotland for her traditional summer break, it’s been reported that she and Anne had an early, private birthday lunch at Frogmore House.
Now
a new documentary released to coincide with her milestone birthday, has given new insight into Anne’s life and personality.
Her husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence made a rare appearance to pay tribute to his wife of 28 years, and revealed, “She’s not a person that is constantly looking for praise. She gets on and does her work regardless because she thinks it’s important.”
Meanwhile, her daughter Zara Tindall gives a glimpse of Anne’s down-to-earth side.
“She’d come home from engagements in exactly what she was wearing, makeup on,” Zara recalled. “Put her welly boots on, jacket on, do her chickens and get her eggs.”
The modest princess also reveals how she’s never considered herself to be a trailblazer. “One of the oddities about my life is that I never either felt that or was encouraged to be that,” she says. “I’m afraid I was really bad at that role model bit.”
It’s no secret that the Duchess of Sussex was a long-time fan of the late Princess Diana before marrying her youngest son, Prince Harry – and she has recently spent hours poring over old media reports about the mother-inlaw she will never get to meet. However, New Idea is told Meghan has uncovered a 2013 report in US magazine that reveals Diana, who had a premonition of her own death, made an audio tape for Prince William’s future wife.
In the recording, Diana advises her eldest on how to avoid the same marriage mistakes she herself made, and also states that William’s future bride is likely to be “beautiful, smart and independent”.
She says: “I know I’d adore you and we’d be fast friends. You’d have to be someone truly special. If you weren’t, you wouldn’t be my William’s wife.”
It’s believed Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, has heard the tape. Now, sources say that Meghan is demanding to hear it too.
“She feels ripped off that Diana didn’t do the same for Harry – she’d have loved a message from from beyond the grave and says that, as Diana’s other daughterin-law, she deserves to hear the message as well,” says a source. “Of course, she doesn’t seem to understand that the whole point of the tape was to advise and support William’s choice of the future queen – which Meghan is not. Kate and William hold those tapes close and won’t let anyone have them.”
