about leaving the band.

“Richie was happy being there to drive with Ava to her first day of high school and to pool parties with her friends. These [past] seven years have been the most loving and rewarding in his life. He wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

A source tells New Idea that Jon and Richie began to fall out of favour with each other in 2011, around the same time the latter was admitted to rehab for drug addiction.

“Jon’s always been very serious about his music and was getting tired of Richie clinging to the days when behaving badly was the done thing – they weren’t young men anymore and that kind of stuff just wasn’t respectable,” says our spy. “Richie thought Jon was being uptight. Tension was simmering for a long time between them, and everyone close to them could see it was hurting their music.

“Richie was furious when Jon spoke about him this month blaming it all on his supposed life choices, when he was only trying to be a good father. There was some hope they might bury the hatchet one day, but there’s no chance of that now!”

One step forward, two steps back? Earlier this year it was reported that Noel Gallagher was back on speaking terms with his brother Liam, after their kids encouraged the Oasis musicians to end their 11-year feud. However, the sibling rivalry is back in full swing, with Liam taking a stab at Noel on Twitter last week. After a fan shared an old photo of Liam, 48, watching Noel, 53, singing and asked, “What were you thinking here? You look angry,” Liam replied, “I was thinking that the mic needs turning off ha ha.” It came after he joked lockdown could only be made worse by the addition of Noel’s music.
