USMAN KHAWAJA ‘I’M A DAD AGAIN’
ANOTHER GORGEOUS GIRL HAS BOWLED OVER THE BATSMAN
Beaming from ear to ear, Australian cricketer Usman Khawaja could barely contain himself as he announced that he and wife Rachel had welcomed their second child, another baby girl.
Taking to social media, Usman – who was born in Pakistan and moved to Australia as a young boy – revealed that Ayla Fozia Mishel Khawaja made her arrival into the world on April 28, weighing 3.25kg.
“Mum was great as always,” the 35-year-old batsman wrote alongside a cute photo of the family’s latest addition.
Ussie and Rachel opted to keep the gender of little Ayla a surprise throughout their pregnancy, just as they did with firstborn Aisha back in 2020.
“Can’t believe we now have two beautiful daughters, feeling unbelievably blessed and deep in that newborn love bubble at the moment,” Rachel wrote on Instagram.
The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony back in 2018, have always put their faith and having a family first.
Called back into the Australian Test side after an 863-day exile, the hardhitting left-hander, who has already scored four impressive centuries since his return, credits a happy family life as the numberone reason he’s playing the best cricket of his career.
“Ussie was born to be a dad – he’s so measured and calm. All his teammates’ kids adore him too. He takes time out for everyone, which is why he’s so admired,” a close friend reveals to New Idea.
“The moment Ayla arrived, their hearts melted. They’re over the moon, and love that Ussie is going to be home at least until the end of June before jetting off to Sri Lanka for the next series,” continues the friend. “Ussie will, for now, be doing a lot of the heavy lifting, including the night feeds and endless nappy changes. “He’s that sort of a daddy – and wouldn’t have it any other way!”
