READER Q&A

Q Help, what should we do? My husband wants his 77-year-old mother to move in with us, but I’m not sold on the idea. We don’t really have the room, plus, we both work full-time. She’s been quite down and isolated since becoming a widow, and to be honest, I think a retirement village would suit her better. LINDA, BRISBANE, QLD.

A It’s a tough one, Linda, but I agree that a retirement community might be a better fit for your mother-in-law, as you both work long hours. Staying socially connected is the key to longevity and good health, so perhaps you could point this out to your husband? I feel that if you give in, resentment will build. Stick to your guns and he should come around.

Q I’m wondering if you can see my family moving or renovating this year? We had plans drawn up back in 2019, but something always seems to delay us. Can you see anything happening by next year? MICHELLE, CAMPBELLTOWN, NSW.

A Looking at the creative energy building in your chart, a spring overhaul could be on the cards. New colours and styling can make an amazing difference, so why not get yourself onto Pinterest and start researching? With your practical yet inventive approach, a major renovation may not be needed. If you’re lacking confidence, why not sign up for an online course (after June 4, when Mercury shifts into forward gear) and sharpen your natural design skills? You might surprise everyone, including yourself! A big move looks more likely in a few years, possibly interstate or to a regional area. But in the meantime, good luck on your design journey.

Q When is a good date for my fiancé and I to tie the knot? We were thinking of a late summer or early autumn wedding. Thanks! LYDIA, ADELAIDE, SA.

A Congratulations! With lovebirds Venus and Mars sitting together, your chart looks ripe for romance – and for marriage. Choosing an auspicious wedding date can be quite complex, as the bride and groom’s charts should both be considered. Even the hour can affect the outcome, but for you, late January looks promising, perhaps just on dusk, so the sun will light up your chart’s relationship sector. January 24 and 25 are my top picks, under Jupiter’s auspicious rays and the romantic Pisces moon!
