THIS LITTLE KITTY LIKES TO EXPLORE UNFUR-MILLIAR TERRITORY
While the mere sight of water would make most moggies’ fur stand on end, Poseidon is four paws in when it comes to getting wet!
The 1-year-old Bengal kitten – who’s aptly named after the Greek God of the sea, earthquakes, storms and horses – loves nothing more than paddleboarding and kayaking with his owners, Ragene and Rick Pinson. “Rick and I have always been active, so when we decided we wanted another kitten, I knew it needed to be one that was going to fit it and enjoy the activities,” 51-year-old Ragene from Ohio, USA tells New Idea. Lucky for Ragene and her husband Rick, 53, Poseidon’s breed is known for its liking of water and, much to the couple’s joy, just like them their feline is a thrillseeker, too! “We decided to name him Poseidon because we love doing water sports and hoped he would join in,” Ragene adds. “And he absolutely loves it. We take him everywhere with us.”
Restaurants, bars and to the shops, there’s nowhere Poseidon doesn’t go. The purr-fect pet even goes on mini-breaks with the adventurous couple to their lake house and spends the weekend paddleboarding, kayaking, and on overnight boat trips where he has his own cabin.
“He goes out fishing with Rick and thinks he’s in charge of the bait bucket,” Ragene chuckles.
And as for people’s reactions when they see a kayaking kitten?
“The responses are hilarious,” Ragene says. “People are shocked to see a cat having the time of his life perched on a paddleboard or trotting along with a leash on a hiking trail!”
But come the evening when the day’s antics are over, Ragene’s kitten loves nothing more than to snuggle up.
“He loves to sleep on my chest and purrs away,” she says.
And for their next adventure, Poseidon’s hitting the ski slopes.
“Rick is a keen snowboarder,” Ragene reveals. “So, we’re going to try and get Poseidon to go with him. I think he’ll love it.”
