SUMMER WINE GUIDE
WINE, THE PERFECT ACCOMPANIMENT TO A SUMMER BEACH BBQ OR PICNIC — USE OUR GUIDE AND CHOOSE FROM AN AMAZING SELECTION OF LOCALLY PRODUCED WINES
Summer is just around the corner, and what better way to make the most of it than to hit the road, preferably in a fine piece of classic automobilia, and soak up the natural beauty this country has to offer? We really do have so much so close — stunning mountains and reserves, rolling meadows and some of the finest beaches that the world has to offer — all within driving distance, and all beautifully complemented by our fine summer weather.
When thinking of a classic Kiwi summer, vineyard visits may not be something that springs instantly to mind, but they’re something which really deserves to be more of a summertime standard in this country.
You see, New Zealand has not only been blessed with stunning natural scenery, but also a unique geography that allows for some world-class vineyards. Locally produced wines are beautiful concoctions, liquid manifestations of the breathtaking landscapes on which they are grown — landscapes that, despite their picturesque magnificence, are oft overlooked and easily forgotten. We’re lucky in that these vineyards not only produce top-shelf wines, but do so from magnificent facilities in beautiful environments.
We have compiled a list of wineries that you should go out of your way to visit, if you get the chance. Take a drive down and make a day, a weekend, or even longer, of discovering the viticultural experiences New Zealand has to offer. Take a guided tour of the impressive premises, sample their quality wines, and enjoy the world-class cuisine they showcase. It’s easy to dismiss our vineyards in favour of barbecues, beaches and baches, but they deliver a truly splendid take on the Kiwi summer — one that should be a staple summer feature for the discerning holidaymaker.
