Graham Macdonald and co-driver John Mulrennan have taken part in a number of Targa Rallies since 2005. They are looking forward to the challenge of the new South Island roads, as are their service crew of Andrew Walker and Jol Wiren. This year marks the fifth major rally in their trusty 1990 BMW 320i. The BMW is essentially standard, which is a requirement for the BMW Race A Driver Series, so the team will be working a lot harder to stay ahead of some of the highly-modified Targa competition! The team would like to thank KITCHENMANIA for supporting its race and rally endeavours over the past year, as well as Hick Bros, Attwoods Packaging, and P & S Automotive for their continuing assistance. Team NZ Barrister is competing once again in Targa Bambina. The team, which is sponsored by Ebbet Prestige, AON, Alexis IT, and Staples Rodway, is ready to contest the three-day event. The weapon of choice is the now-familiar Honda Integra. The car is on its third engine, but this transplant seems to be holding up, having completed the South Island six-day event without any problems. David O’neill performs driving duties, while Blair Brookbanks is co-driver, and Shane Hinga plus another are the service crew (Hayden Robertson having been called away on parental duties). While looking to be fast enough to be competitive, David aims to finish, and knows the roads around the Coromandel will be the highlight for team NZ Barrister. However, how Targa managed to close these public roads (particularly Coromandal to Whangapoua Hill) is still a mystery to the team! raham Macdonald and co-driver John Mulrennan have taken part in 240a number Victoria of Street, Targa HamiltonRallies since 2005.
