New Zealand Classic Car

Welcome back

- Ashley Webb Editor

It’s only four weeks since I left the office for a well-earned break, but I’m already wondering where it went. After unwinding on holiday (that fabulous Pacific Islands cruise was just the ticket), and just as I was getting comfortable — I even forgot about work, briefly, and perfected my extended sleep-ins — stark reality returned.

I thought my computer was playing cruel tricks on me: over 400 emails and a print deadline at the end of the week just to raise the stress level! Welcome back.

At this point, I was thankful that we’d put plenty of extra effort into preparing this issue prior to heading off on leave, so that the final week of production would run as smoothly as possible. Thanks to the efforts of our entire team working on the magazine and a 32-page Ellerslie Classic Car Show 2017 programme, we made it.

As you will have noticed from this month’s cover, we’ve kept the summer theme alive in this issue; after all, February is supposed to be the hottest month of the year, and no doubt many of you will be taking advantage of the extended Waitangi Day weekend by heading off to enjoy the fine weather — perhaps with a caravan in tow.

For motor racing enthusiasts, the calendar will undoubtedly be full of must-see events from one end of the country to the other — check out our Events Diary in case you’ve missed a few. There are also many more shows, swap meets, and club activities well worth attending listed here. So, what have we planned for 2017? We’re looking forward to making more improvements to New Zealand Classic Car. Much effort went into improving design elements within these pages last year, and we’ll continue to finetune along the way again in 2017. As with any magazine, interesting content is paramount, so, with this in mind, we’ll continue to search the country for great cars and owners with wonderful stories to share, along with other relevant and engaging content to complement the magazine.

I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing summer break. We look forward to catching up with you again next month.
