Saved from the scrap heap

-

In regards to Gerard’s story on sports cars, I bought the damaged Stanton Corvette from John Monehan, and rebuilt it. Only ran it once in a historic meeting at Wigram — think [it was the] 1975 Autoparts-sponsored handicap race — Ray Archibald, Jaguar C-type won, from memory. I guess if I hadn’t bought it and put it back together it could have ended on a scrap heap. Sold it to Russell Greer. Thought you might be interested.

The Stanton Corvette is definitely well worth preserving, Rod — it’s a good thing you had the foresight to rebuilt it when you did. AFW
