100% NIKON 100% INDEPENDENT

- Chris George, Editor chris@nphotomag.com

The French have the Salon in the fall. The Germans queue up for the Photokina fest every other year. And New Yorkers make an annual pilgrimage to the PhotoPlus Expo. Now the Brits have their own, brand new, show to get excited about. Taking place from March 1-4, The Photography Show promises to be an exhibition unlike any we have ever seen in these isles. It is not just about the big stands from all the top manufacturers, this will be a celebration of photography in all its forms.

I am particularly excited about talks from my hero photographers – like Joe McNally, Steve McCurry, and Michael Freeman. And there will be plenty to take pictures of with your Nikon, too, from the special International Garden Photographer of the Year indoor flower garden, to BMX stunt riders and beautiful catwalk models.

Nikon will be there, showing their full range of lenses and cameras, so you can try out all those monster telephotos and get your hands on the Df (and perhaps even see the new D4s). They will have a full programme of talks from N-Photo pro contributors such as John Wright, Kate Hopewell-Smith, Mark Pain and Jeremy Walker. There’s so much to cram in, you might want to go for more than one day! Come and find me and the rest of N-Photo team if you do make it to Birmingham on one of the four days – we’d love to hear what you think of this exciting event.
