Is Gerry on track with his settings?

As they stood in the siding waiting for the next timetabled train to come up the Severn Valley track, Phil gave Gerry some simple tips for improving his shooting success rate:

500 not out!

Phil says… To get sharp shots of steam trains, you need to use a shutter speed of 1/500 sec or faster. I use Manual exposure mode as my default, as you can set up the settings before the train comes into sight and not worry about the white exhaust to black engine fooling the meter.
