OUR APPRENTICE says…
In some of my earlier shots, Phil had noticed that I was tending to frame the trains too high up in the shot. Railway photography, he explained, was perfect for the Rule of Thirds, and I should try to make sure the track was about a third of the way up from the bottom of the frame, and the front of the engine around a third of the way in from one of the sides – and I succeeded in ticking both these boxes here. The shot of No. 4936 Kinlet Hall was again taken from another hillside vantage point looking back towards Bewdley, which gave a great view of the GWR loco working its way through the Worcestershire landscape.
