It gives a very subtle HDR effect that I find perfect for processing manyofmy steam train images, so as to avoid over-bright highlights or dark, detail-free, shadows. I process my RAW file to create TIFF files of different brightnesses which I then combine using TuFuse so as to rescue just enough detail in the high. The program costs $35 for a one-machine licence and can be downloaded at www.tawbaware.com. There is no need to pay upfront; you can try a watermarked version so you can see the results for yourself.
