My website is plastered with the logos of the associations I’m a member of. It shows that I take my work seriously. Enter photo competitions. Winning them gets great coverage and looks good on your bio. Figure out what you want to be paid to shoot and do it for free first to show off your skills. Juggle your areas of expertise. I spend 40 per cent of my time shooting weddings, 40 per cent photographing and teaching travel and 20 per cent on studio shoots. Get a website that gives your photos pride of place. They speak a thousand words, after all.
Facebook is my first port of call for updating and sharing with my 10,000 fans. I also like to keep in touch with clients from previous photography trips.
