This film-making term refers to the practice of shooting by day and using post-production techniques to create a nocturnalcoloured version of the scene.
BASE MASK
By default a Selection Control Point’s Base Mask is set to 0, so it alters areas beside the Control Point. Raise the Base Mask percentage and the Control Point influences more of the image.
