Step by step Explosive effect

Once you’ve got the hang of taking zoom bursts, you can experiment

-

01 Switch to M Switch to Manual mode using your Nikon’s main dial and select as low an ISO as possible. Pick a narrow aperture, such as f/22, so that you can shoot with the slow shutter speed you need – anything from 1/8 to 1/2 sec gives you enough time to zoom your lens out completely. 02 Try a burst Compose your shot carefully – the centre will be the sharpest point of the final photo. Holding your camera steady, start zooming out slowly, press the shutter button, and keep zooming until the shutter closes again. 03 Get experimenting Once you’re getting the look right, you can start to experiment with different subjects. Even everyday objects can look great when you apply a zoom burst. Try using it when shooting sports, urban scenes or even portraiture for intriguingly different results.
