Performs well. There’s room for improvement in corner sharpness but it’s better than the Sigma 20mm lens.

f2.8 There’s less barrel distortion at 16mm than with any of the other zoom lenses on test, at their shortest zoom settings.

f2.8 Fringing isn’t as noticeable as in the Nikon 16-35mm or Sigma 12-24mm lenses, but it’s higher than average.

Centre sharpness is retained well even at f/2.8. Image corners can be a little soft even at medium apertures.
