Nikon AF-S 16-35mm f/4G ED VR
image quality verdict
Overall image quality is very good. Individual lab scores aren’t inspiring, but this lens can deliver great results.
The worst score for barrel distortion at 16mm, practically none at mid-range settings, and pincushion at the long end.
Lab scores at f/8 don’t look impressive but they’re consistent throughout the zoom range, and across the whole frame.
At the shortest zoom setting, only the Sigma 12-24mm lens shows higher levels of colour fringing.
