Chris says… Pic­ture Con­trols ad­just things like sharp­en­ing and con­trast. (See page 56 for more de­tails.) The Land­scape pre­set, among other things, re­duces con­trast so there is less risk of burnt-out skies. A po­lariser re­duces po­larised light in a scene, and can in­ten­sify the blue of a sky. The ef­fect is hard to recre­ate in pro­cess­ing, so should be used at the time of shoot­ing.
