The great thing about a D-SLR is that you can leave it in fully automatic mode until you feel comfortable enough to step up a gear and take more control over the picture-taking process. But the sooner you can do this, the better; when you choose more of your camera’s settings yourself, you’ll get more predictable, consistent, better-quality results and enjoy your photography more.
