Kevin Carter

Born in 1960 in Johannesburg, Kevin Carter was one of four photographers immortalised in the 2010 film The Bang Bang Club. From 1990 until his death, Carter and his colleagues, João Silva, Ken Oosterbroek and Greg Marinovich, took some of the most disturbing images of South Africa’s township violence. Between them, The Bang Bang Club won many awards, including two Pulitzer Prizes.
