Got your shots in the bag? Now it’s time to process and file your images. Here’s what to use…
cc photography £8.78/$9.99 per month
Take out a subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud Photography Plan and you get access to the excellent Lightroom 5 (for RAW processing and photo management) and Photoshop CC (for retouching) for the duration of your subscription.
adobe lightroom 5 £100/$140
In addition to being part of Creative Cloud, Lightroom is also available as a standalone purchase via download or boxed copy. It’s a great choice for organising your photo collection and lets you edit multiple pictures at once.
adobe photoshop elements 11 £78, $100
If you don’t want to take out a subscription to Photoshop CC, then consider buying Elements. Photoshop ‘lite’ it may be, with a more basic version of Adobe’s RAW processor, but it offers the potential for sophisticated image editing.
dxo optics pro 8 £73/149, $99/169
This is ‘just’ a RAW conversion tool, so you’re still likely to need an image editor like Elements to add the finishing touches to your pictures, but it’s loaded with enhancement options and superb lens correction features.
