The final assessment…
John came to our Apprentice shoot with some knowledge of horse photography already, but while he was used to photographing moving subjects at sports events, he hadn’t tried Leslie’s brand of ‘equestrian lifestyle’ photography. He was keen to diversify and learn how to take portraits of horses and owners, and Leslie arranged a day packed full of subjects, styles and compositions. She organised the use of a local stable with the owner and found the ideal subjects, both human and equine, for John to practise with. At the end of the day, they both agreed that their favourite photograph was this shot of Gerden and Zoe framed in the stable door, taken at the start of the day.
