Fix it manually

Press Cmd/Ctrl+Z to undo what you’ve just done. Go to Enhance>Adjust Lighting>Levels to see the histogram. The histogram has three Input Levels sliders below the graph. The black slider (on the left) enables you to adjust the shadows.
