Lexar is a leading name when it comes to storage, so you’d expect the Professional 600x to be one of the leaders in this test. However, despite the quoted 90MB per second read speed, our test showed a maximum of 82MB per second. That’s not far off the quoted speed, but a fraction slower than the other cards on test. When we checked the all-important write speeds, in our QuickBench test it only managed to clocked a sluggish 43MB per second – 12MB per second less than the PNY. In the buffer test it scored 27MB per second, which was only fractionally slower than the other cards’ buffer-to-card clearance speeds.
