David says… An­drew uses his D3200’s RAW + JPEG op­tion, as “ap­par­ently images look bet­ter in RAW”, but he’s not re­ally sure why. JPEG is fine if you nail the ex­po­sure in-cam­era, and when there isn’t too much con­trast in your scene, but for ev­ery­thing else RAW is usu­ally the best op­tion (see this month’s Niko­pe­dia on page 72 for more on RAW vs JPEG).
