David says… One of the advantages of using a tripod is that it forces you to slow down and think about what you’re doing. Landscape photography tends to be quite measured and precise: once you’ve got a rough composition sorted, a tripod allows you to nudge your camera left or right, or up or down, until everything is exactly how you want it. It’s almost impossible to do this handheld with any degree of accuracy.
