David says… One of the ad­van­tages of us­ing a tri­pod is that it forces you to slow down and think about what you’re do­ing. Land­scape pho­tog­ra­phy tends to be quite mea­sured and pre­cise: once you’ve got a rough com­po­si­tion sorted, a tri­pod al­lows you to nudge your cam­era left or right, or up or down, un­til ev­ery­thing is ex­actly how you want it. It’s almost im­pos­si­ble to do this hand­held with any de­gree of ac­cu­racy.
