OUR APPRENT ICE says…

I learnt more from David in a single day that in a whole year or trying to figure things out for myself. Before, whenever I went somewhere photogenic like the Lake District, I’d take hundreds of landscapes – all of them handheld – but I would always be disappointed in the results. David showed me how important light is, and also how important it is to work with the light rather than against it. That’s why I’m so pleased with my Shot of the Day: it takes everything I learnt on the day, including how vital it is to use a tripod, and combines it in a very simple, but very graphic, image.
