Manfrotto Carbon BeFree

Escaping for some winter sun? Pack this lightweight carbon tripod

-

The Manfrotto BeFree carbon weighs in at an incredibly light 1.1kg, 300g lighter than the standard version. This might not seem like a great deal, but when the rest of your kit is factored in as well it can make a big difference. Being a travel tripod it’s designed to pack down small – to just 40cm – making it ideal for popping in your suitcase.

The mechanisms of the BeFree are very simple, with lever locks to release and secure the legs and a small ball head. Fully extended, it has a working height of 144cm, which can be collapsed down to a minimum working height of just 34cm.

The Carbon BeFree can hold a maximum weight of 4kg, so it will easily hold any of Nikon’s present bodies with a prime – even a Nikon D4s with Nikon 58mm.
