Sidestepping compatibility issues, this RF remote is supplied without any camera connection cables for its receiver module, the idea being that you buy the one you need separately at an additional cost of about £10/$16. All three Nikon types are available. One potential problem is that you end up with a 90cm cable between the receiver and the camera but, on the plus side, the receiver features its own two-stage operating button, so you can also use it as a cable release, even if the batteries in the transmitter have gone flat.
The transmitter module has a four-position switch for Single, Continuous (one shot per second), Bulb and Self-timer (four-second delay) drive modes. Only the Bulb option requires physical changes to the camera’s own drive settings. Maximum range is 150 metres.
