As with auto ISO, some street photographers set their drive mode to continuous, so they can shoot in bursts, and so maximise their chances of nailing the perfect frame, but this takes some of the spontaneity out of street photography. ‘The decisive moment’ is a phrase that gets bandied about a lot; I prefer to try to anticipate this moment, and take a single, well-timed frame, than rattle off a series and hope for the best.
