Cool running

For constant lights, the difference between hot halogen heads and cooler-running LED heads is remarkable – and this can have an effect on what modifiers you’re able to use (see 6, below).

Recycle time

Unlike with constant lights, you have to wait for a flash head to recycle after firing before it’s ready to fire again. However, the waiting time is usually less than a couple of seconds, even after a full-power flash.

Fire hazard!

You may not be able to use modifiers like umbrellas, softboxes, snoots and honeycombs with some halogen constant lights, as the heat can cause them to melt or catch fire.
