A key ad­van­tage that the Bowens head has over the Elinchrom halo­gen one is that the light can be dimmed. How­ever, even at its max­i­mum, undimmed power set­ting, and with the head zoomed to its spot set­ting, you’re still likely to re­quire a rather wide aper­ture of f/2.5 when shoot­ing at ISO100 and 1/125 sec, with the head po­si­tioned two me­tres from the tar­get.
