Bigger tends to be better when it comes to flash diffusers. However, the Insight Dome promises big performance from fairly compact dimensions of 15 x 10 x 8cm.

Sliding mounting points ensure compatibility with pretty much any flashgun, and when you’ve got a snug fit, a Velcro strap locks everything in place.

The magic happens inside, where an array of baffles and mirrors transforms harsh light into more flattering illumination. Just remember you will need to ramp up the flash power by three stops if you’re not shooting in TTL (through the lens) metering mode.

The Insight Dome’s performance doesn’t disappoint, but neither does it soften light appreciably better than the flat-pack diffusers in our line-up, yet these won’t hog nearly as much space in your bag.
