“Wa­ter­falls are per­fect for teach­ing stu­dents how they can use shut­ter speed to blur or freeze mov­ing sub­jects,” ex­plains Nigel. “I got Enid to set a dif­fer­ent speed for each shot in this se­quence, start­ing at 1/1000 sec and in­cre­men­tally ex­tend­ing the du­ra­tion of the exposure. As you can see, a speed of 1/8 sec or slower is needed to cap­ture the wa­ter as a smooth, con­tin­u­ous blur.”
