Without putting yourself in danger, one sure way to avoid obvious compositions is to look for the places most people don’t or won’t venture. Everyone sees the same view by standing on the path, but if you can get above or below your subject, you unlock a whole new viewpoint. Anything from simply lying on the ground to clambering around your location can lead to more dynamic shots.
