I travelled to the Liangshan district in China’s south-western Sichuan Province in November 2014 to photograph the ethnic Yi people and their traditional way of life. One afternoon, I went up to a roof and observed this scene of horse and cattle trading in a birch forest. I used a tripod and neutral density filter to enable a long exposure, hoping to capture a photograph which was a combination of movement and peace.
