It’s a good idea to use a nar­row aper­ture for th­ese images. When you get close up to your sub­ject even a small item fills the frame, and if you use a wide aper­ture such as f/2.8, you’ll only have a frag­ment of your sub­ject in fo­cus. Try keep­ing your aper­ture above f/8 or f/11 to en­sure that more of your sub­ject is sharp
