Free as a bird
Tethered shooting isn’t just for studio use: with an extra-long cable, it can be ideal for photographing wildlife. Set up your camera overlooking a bird table, pond or a particularly appealing flower, attach it via a very long cable to your computer and you can wait for something photogenic to turn up. Shy creatures that would be intimidated by your presence will happily ignore your camera, and you’ll be able to see when they’re in exactly the right place.
