Shoot for the sky

Expose for the sky. You’re after a silhouette, so don’t worry about capturing detail elsewhere. Either use manual mode or set the exposure a stop or two under what’s needed. A faster shutter speed will help to keep your model sharp. You’ll need to raise your ISO as the sky gets darker.
