A true specialist, Patrick has devoted his career to photographing the sport of cricket, and he’s captured many of its most famous moments
■ Patrick Eagar first worked as a cricket photographer for The Cricketer magazine in 1965 – 50 years ago this summer.
■ Since 1972, when the cricket authorities ended the exclusive contract for photographing Tests in England, Patrick has covered 325 Test matches.
■ He has published 13 books, including The Ashes in Focus – the story behind the now-legendary 2005 series in England, which England won.
■ A major exhibition of Patrick’s work was held in 2005 and 2006 at the MCC Museum to celebrate his 51st match at Lord’s.
