How can I get my RAW NEF files from my Nikon D5300 into Lightroom?

Matt says… Roy, you’ll need Adobe Camera Raw version 8.3 and Lightroom 5.3. You can download both at www. adobe.com, although you may have to pay for the Lightroom update if your version isn’t recent enough.

Can I edit a RAW image in Capture NX-D, then export it to Lightroom?

Matt says… Because Capture NX-D saves edits as sidecar files, you can’t export an edited RAW file, but you can export your edited file as a TIFF or JPEG, which Lightroom can handle.
