Ad­just the curves of in­di­vid­ual colour chan­nels to get the cross-pro­cessed look

Lighten red shad­ows

Open Creative_s­tart.NEF via the link be­low. Click the Lev­els and Curves panel’s Auto Con­trast icon. Drag the Gamma slider to 1.48. Tar­get the Red chan­nel. Place an an­chor point in the mid­dle of the curve. Drag a sec­ond shadow an­chor point to remap in­put lev­els of 36 to out­put lev­els of 64.

Boost mid­tone blues

Next, go to the Blue chan­nel and place another an­chor point in the mid­dle of the curve. Place a point to the left of the curve and drag it so that in­put lev­els of 72 are light­ened to a brighter 114. This brings out more blues in the mid­tones, so ad­just­ing the look and feel of the wa­ter.
