09 Time to celebrate
This is a very simple shot, but one that’s very nicely done. The muted colour palette works well, and the gypsophila strewn around the glasses serves two purposes: the tiny flowers echo champagne bubbles, adding to the shot’s lighthearted, bubbly feel, and they add an interesting texture to the defocused areas of the image. (The glasses, of course, are pin-sharp.) Gypsophila is also a classic flower for wedding bouquets, so it adds a narrative context, too.
