For the first photo we were shooting with the sun at our back or to the side, but now the clouds had parted a little and we were getting harsh shadows on the floor. I told Jen to walk away from David as he crouched down on the beachy path. The sky has blown out here, but that doesn’t matter. It adds to the summery feel of the photo. “Sometimes rules can restrict your creativity,” I reminded David.
