SRB 28mm On-It Carbon Fibre Tripod

The On-it 28mm (the 28mm refers to the width of the thickest leg section) is a relatively straightforward four-section tripod supplied with a variable-friction ball head. The head movement is not particularly smooth, but there is a separate pan axis, which is useful. SRB says the head uses an exclusive Balance Plate design, but Arca-Swiss plates seem to fit too. The maximum height of 1.7 metres is good for a tripod in this price bracket, and the specially-designed Short Centre Column enables you to position your camera very low to the ground. The whole thing folds down to just 48cm to fit into a supplied carry case. There’s no angled boom mechanism but there is a detachable monopod. Overall, the On-It 28mm lacks finesse but it’s terrific value.
