Heather says... Grey skies can be great for shooting macro images of nature – they provide soft light, making subjects look like they’re inside a giant soft box. It’s much easier than shooting in direct overhead sunlight. However, when shooting in forests, it’ll be considerably darker, so be aware of how slow your shutter speed is getting.
